when I started online marketing

When I started online marketing I was just like every newbie thinking. I'm going to be reach and tell my boss to kiss my well, you know where I'm going that. So I build a website because I was told. "You have to have a website" in order for people to find you on the world wide web. Not, you only need to a website if you trying to gain a following don't get me wrong I got one but did not know the first thing on what it should look like. What I was going to sell, how I people would find out I was even on line. Now the person that sold me my first web site sold me the dream with out the blue print. He did what he set out to do and that was sell the web site. I could not be mad with him he gave me just what he knew I could use. I had to start some where.

At this time I knew nothing about affiliate marketing or that I could even sale other companies products and services on my site and make a profit so I did something I knew about and that was productions making things happen more like event planning. so I have a web developer/programmer build my site and when it was done it was a $5,000 dollar masterpiece that only gave people my number to call and set appointments for me. Right, a big waste, and you would think my business would grow faster. It did not even bring me business but what it did do is make me learn simple HTML when I did not have any money left for my Web master that asked for her money up front before she would even get started.

After playing around with this site I created with the last of my savings until I did not have the monthly fee to help keep it going finally came to and end and all that money and work was gone for ever. Now, I could have got up set or I could have learned from it. So I got up set, then I learned what I did wrong. When I look back on all the crap I had gone through I'm glad I did because now when I see what's not working I know it when I see it and can make adjustments that will benefit my project. So I look at spending $5,000 as a class that would teach me how and what to look for. I did not have a mentor and know one at that time was around to help me from tripping all over my self.

Now time has passed and I see how the Internet has changed from when I started back in 2000. It moves 5 times faster now and if you don't know what's going on with online marketing you can be taken for every dime you have in a blink of an eye. There are so many so called Gurus out there selling their new now next best thing. It will make your head spin if you don't focus. that's just what they are trying to do, get you not to focus on your online business. I have looked at some opportunity jumped right on bored only to find out its nothing but crap. I would get out before my trial was up only to have them send my email to master list. Other wards if I don't get you this way I will keep trying with some other crap I will tell you is better then slice bread. Until I have to get not only off there list but other list of gurus they sold my email to.

After doing this for a minute you will see the groups that run in the same pattern. Don't get me wrong they do have some great products and service out there but there are some groups that are there just to feed of your blood and other word your money until you are bone dried out.

This has help me keep out of Dracula's grasp and stay focus on the path to success.

1. Remember, this is a business, your business if you don't respect it then know one will.
2. You can not see the Forrest before the trees. So plan your work then work your plan. Going into the woods with out the right equipment and direction is only going to get you lost dazed and confused.
3. You can follow a path that has been traveled but repave the road so that others will be glad to follow.
4. Help others along the way. I'm not saying to give away some of your information, product or service. But remember know one ever gets to the top alone and with out some form of help. There is also some thing called karma and yes some times she is a female dog. So treat others the way you like to be treated.
5. Know your worth. in this line of business other will tell you that what you offer is not good or you need to change your goals. Take it for what it is, an opinion if you can see the good in it you will know deep inside. But also remember opinions are just like sorry to say, assholes every one has one.

Now that we have gone though my 5 commandments there are some other thing you need to know. like your niche, what are you going to sale on line and how are you going to do it. Are you going to sell your own products and services or are you going to sell others or both. It don't really matter but you do need some thing to sale or you are just using the world wide web for your own personal soap box. Good look with that. We all know if you are investing one line you are looking to profit are you would just chat with your family and friend on social media and even sales people are lurking there to get your business.

If you not selling your own product or service then you must be looking for the right affiliate program. Now their are two kind of programs point blink the ones you pay to sell and the one you don't have to pay them to sell but you will still pay. Right, I said it you are still paying to promote their product or service even if you are just placing their information on the site you pay for or your time. Remember you can always pay for things but you can never get back the time. This is why I say know your worth.

These are things I check before or during my two months trial.

1 check to see how long the company has been in business and if they have other products and services they offer this tells if they are new or been in the game for a minute.

2. always check for reviews, see what other affiliates are saying about the product or service. I know every thing is not for every body but I do like to know things like, they will not pay for sales on a mobile devices like ipads, cell phone and Kendell's. allot of programs will not tell you that but love it when you market to mobile devices so they don't have to pay.

3. That bring me to the contract, some times they hide information like they can close your account and not pay commission for violations of contract. Remember a job may fire you but they still pay for work done. This creams to me. They don't wish to pay me even if they would have never got this lead, paying customer you have to leave behinde or worse along with monthly payments you will miss out on. Know what you are singing up front before you make the commitment. Also remember if you bring above average in sales to this organization you can always renegotiate. I can't say it enough know your worth.

4. Only sale products or service that are ethical, safe, some thing you can stand behind remember it's your brand that's on the line. If people find that you will just sell anything to get there hard earn cash they will feel they are just a sale to you. You may find yourself being reviewed some where that others can see what they think you are all about. We did talk about karma right?

5. Keep focused don't get distracted with new things you can sell remember if you are not selling what you have now. what in the hell you going to do with a new product, Get as much as you can handle in your niche then work on marketing, marketing and more marketing. And only till your sells reach the goal you set for the month or year don't keep adding. Get to know what you have and how to sell it first, that will also help you understand the next up coming project even better.
